Are you bringing joy into your life?

Aug 01, 2024

Hello my love,

A few weeks ago, I realised I wasn’t in a good place and wasn’t doing anything that brought joy into my life. Literally. I had been like this for months.

I was working, occasionally going to the gym when I had the energy, and then eating. But even the latter two activities didn’t bring me joy; I felt dissociated and disconnected from myself, living life on autopilot. It dawned on me that I wasn’t doing anything to add joy to my life.

Once I acknowledged this, I made a conscious decision to start each day with gratitude. Gratitude for a new day, for my body, for my home—things we often take for granted. As I began to build up my inner strength and energy, I made an active choice to reach out to loved ones, connect with new people, and attend new events and experiences that took me out of my comfort zone. One of these experiences was ecstatic dance. It felt so good to move my body and connect with other like-minded people (another thing to be grateful for!).

I realised that many of us live for the weekend and miss the joy of being present. Sometimes, gratitude can be the simplest and most effective way to bring us out of a funk. We should bless our lives for the fact that we have incomes, people who check in on us, our hearing, sight, the sun (when it finally comes out), and even the rain that nourishes the earth.

It might sound like woo-woo, but I promise you—finding joy in the mundane can really shift your vibration and outlook on life.

So, I’m curious—what’s one thing you’ve actively done to bring more joy into your daily life? It doesn’t need to be grand, just true to you.

Here are some of mine as of late:
1. Feeding the bulls and cows at the Bhaktivedanta Manor - look at this little baby đŸ„č
2. Indulging in my fave Iced Blueberry Matcha - and then learning how to make it myself because ain’t NOBODY got time to spend £5 on this!!
3. Spending time in nature and grounding in the lush grass
4. Moon gazing
5. Holding my third in person Kundalini Activation with the most wonderful group!

I hope this serves as a loving reminder to find and add joy to your daily life - no matter what it may be.
